Virat Kohli in ODI's

Virat Kohli has played 85 ODI games so far, and scored 11 centuries. 11 Centuries is a huge number considering he is only around in World cricket for 4 years.

ODI Centuries are a difficult task, just to give few examples, great players of modern era such as Misbah Ul Haq, G.Thorpe, Ian Botham,  M.Vaughan have scored 0 centuries. 11 centuries from Virat Kohli are greater than G.Gambhir, M.Hayden, Inzamam (10 each), K.Pietersen (9), S.Fleming, J.Miandad (8), Z.Abbas, D.Gower, D.Jones, Dhoni, M.Clarke, Azhar (7) etc etc.

Virat Kohli is tied with perhaps all time greatest cricketers in ODI Sir Vivian Richards and A.Desilva in terms of scoring centuries.

Now let’s compare Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar with respect to ODI’s. In 85 ODI’s, Kohli has scored 3590 runs with strike rate of 86.31 and average of 50.56. Sachin Tendulkar in his first 85 ODI’s scored 2393 runs with a very modest average of 33.23 with only 2 centuries.

Both Tendulkar centuries came in sub-continent (Colombo and Vadodara), while Kohli already have 2 centuries in England and Australia (Cardiff and Hobart) out of 11. Kohli has not only performed well in England, Australia and Sub continent pitches, he just missed out in 2 other continents from scoring century. Kohli scored 94 in West Indies at Kingston, Jamaica and 87 not out in Port Elizabeth, S.Africa. In last 4 years, Kohli has scored runs against all oppositions in all possible countries. This proves that Virat Kohli is the biggest and brightest thing happening at this moment for Indian and World Cricket.

College Bollywood Movies

“Band Baaja Baarat” is a lovely debut movie for Ranveer Singh. It gives a reminder that there are still roles getting written for young, fresh talent. His face though is a perfect fit for a role of young college kid. It has been quiet some time since a good movie came about for College kids. Ishq Vishq probably is the last movie which was filmed totally based on college life. Akshay Kumar’s “Khiladi” though remains the best college movie yet and perhaps, “Shiva” for those who loves a bit of action.

Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan, two biggest super star of Bollywood, though never did any outright college movie. For Shahrukh there was a glimpse of college life shown in first half of Kuch Kuch Hota hai, but other than that it is hard to recollect, Shahrukh fitting the role of a college stud.

On the other hand, Aamir Khan did many movies on the roles based on college kid. Though most of them remain flops, such as “Love Love Love”, “Jawani Zindabad”, “Deewana Mujhsa Nahin”, “Afsana Pyar Ka” except “Dil”.

“Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar” can be considered as a more pre-college era (school) and 3 Idiots being based on engineering college life (a bit different from commerce/arts/junior college stuff).
